About

Hi, I’m Jessica Gorbett — a curious, focused, and driven UI developer with a foundation in graphic design, a passion for user experience, and experience turning complex needs into thoughtful, scalable digital solutions.

My career began in higher education, where I grew from a student worker sketching a campus safety map into web development, UX, and leadership roles. Along the way, I managed web operations across 24 departments and led UX, CMS, accessibility, and digital modernization efforts.

Today, I work at 9 Embers, where I design and develop experiences within Rock RMS for churches and ministry organizations. Within my first year of learning Rock, I helped develop multiple reusable products, including a website theme and Rock Mobile app package. My work also includes managing website retainers, leading client conversations, mapping workflows and processes, supporting sales, designing website experiences, and contributing to branding and marketing strategy.

What makes me different?

I bridge gaps — between design and development, user needs and organizational goals, technical constraints and practical outcomes.I’m comfortable moving between strategy and execution: mapping a process in Figma, designing an interface, working through Lava or front-end code, clarifying scope with a client, or helping a team determine what should happen next.I lead with clarity, curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership. Whether I’m building a product, improving a workflow, or working through a complex client need, I focus on creating solutions that are useful, maintainable, and grounded in the people they’re meant to serve.
